Meet the trainer!
Hi my name is Lauren or Lozza. I currently teach RockFit classes in Pickering and Malton. Alongside this, I also do sports photography and studying to become and strength and conditioning coach.

About me:
For years I have been in and out of sports and did a sport leadership program when I was younger. I actually didn’t get my qualification till around 10 years later. I had a bad stint of mental health issues which saw me turn to drink. After a wake up call I was determined to get back out on the tatami and everything went from there.
What is my history in sports:
For years I have played numerous sports. Main sport growing up was netball/swimming when I competed in school through to secondary. The next major sport I would say was karate. I have competed in kumite from local to national level in shotokan. I am an ex ultra marathon runner and I play hockey, do track days and getting back into cycling/XC.
What does the future hold?
I am a level 2 instructor who teaches RockFit in Pickering and Malton. I would like to go more into sport based programming and therapies as that is where I have the most knowledge in. Hopefully the photography part of it takes off as well!
My values:
I was nervous to say I wanted to be a personal trainer. At that point it was fairly quiet before the COVID boom. I mainly wanted to help people find fitness enjoyable and fun whilst reeking the long term benefits of sustainable health. I have since switched to coaching but the ethos still remains the same.
Best thing about fitness is the freedom of movement. To be able to move and then do the basic things when you’re older is beneficial. Sport to me is a great way to get a community and support for fitness. So many social clubs where everyone gets involved is great for mental health and making new friends.

Why work with LCW fitness:
I’ve been told I am quite different when it comes to approaching fitness. I do not put unrealistic expectations onto my clients. I am quite real when it comes down to it and the best way to achieve is to enjoy what you’re training for. I have been told I have a caring but stern manor that allows people to feel like exercise isn’t a chore.
Recent feedback from a few photography shoots is that I make them fun and not overly strict. I think people work at their best is when they are relaxed and enjoying themselves.
